For those who are interested to be an instructor, a training or certification in Red Cross Responding to Emergencies or equivalent is a must.

Environmental related bachelor's degrees such as Environmental Science are preferred for this position. But if you have the outdoor skills necessary for backpacking, canoing, and hiking, a four year diploma can do.  A good health that can sustain long hours of physical outdoor activities is very important for this job.
